Warren City Schools is gearing up for the district’s annual Back To School Celebration at Courthouse Square in downtown Warren!
This year’s event is set for Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Students, parents, teachers and school administrators will gather together to celebrate the start of another successful school year in Warren City Schools and kick off 2023-2024.
This year’s celebration of Warren City Schools, our students, families and community will include refreshments, games, raffles and entertainment, among other features.
Warren City Schools will hold a JOB FAIR Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Warren G. Harding High School (Entrance M). Hours are 4 to 6 p.m.
The school district is looking for bus drivers, cafeteria workers and maintenance personnel. Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes and references, and are welcome to complete employment applications on-site.
District representatives will have laptops available for completing applications online. Paper applications will also be available.
Students entering Warren G. Harding this fall will be the Class of 2027. Freshman Academy is an opportunity for these incoming students to prepare for an amazing year!

The United Way of Trumbull County presented Warren City Schools with the agency’s Give Award during the May 18, 2023, combined annual meeting and awards luncheon.
The United Way, while celebrating its 100-year milestone, recognized varios individuals, businesses and organizations for their contributions during the event held at the Eastwood Event Centre.
WCS Superintendent/CEO Steve Chiaro accepted the district’s Give Award garnered “In appreciation of the highesty engagement of employee and student campaign” for 2022.
Warren City Schools and the American Red Cross have teamed up to offer swim lesson for children between the ages of 3 and 14. Registration is open now.
Students and staff, along with parents and community members, gathered outside Warren City Schools’ McGuffey PK-8 School Friday morning (May 12) to give the school’s robotics team the Titonics a big sendoff. The team is heading to New Jersey for a two-day national competition at the Liberty Science Center Invitational.
The nine-member team, with students in grades fourth to eighth, have had a successful season competing against various robotics teams.
Warren Mayor Doug Franklin gave the team some words of encouragement as they prepared to board the bus. Representatives from the city’s safety forces escorted the team off campus and along the first leg of the trip.
McGuffey PK-8 School was filled with activity Wednesday, May 10, 2023, during an afterschool event that brought dozens of families in for an afterschool Celebration of the Arts fest.
The event featured a variety of hands-on activities, including rock painting, beading and other crafting projects. Music spilled from the cafetorium to the hallways. Other activities included games, a photo booth and a picnic dinner for all McGuffey students and families in attendance.
Volunteers from the River Church in Warren dished up some freshly made popcorn.
Students and their families, along with Warren City Schools staff and community members, gathered at Warren G. Harding High School on Friday, may 5, 2023, for the annual districtwide art show.
The event, which drew in hundreds of area residents, celebrated the creativity and talent of WCS students with outstanding artwork from all five of the district’s schools: Jefferson PK-8, Lincoln PK-8, McGuffey PK-8, Willard PK-8 and Warren G. Harding High School. All aspects of media were represented at the juried show. More than 400 WCS students participated.
Dani Burns, WCS Gifted Coordinator/Virtual Programming Administrator, said this year’s show was the biggest one to date.
“The amount of outstanding artwork and the overwhelming response and support from the community was wonderful,” Burns said. “Our students and staff did an amazing job and their efforts were appreciated by so many who came and truly admired the creativity, talent and dedication our students have.”
In addition to other awards, one student from each building received a Principal’s Award:
Jefferson: Aniyah Nolan, 8th grade
Lincoln: Tristan Hobbs, 7th grade
McGuffey: Sha’Kya Buxton, 7th grade
Willard: Ny’Eimah Gibson, 6th Grade
Harding: McKenna Murphy, 11th grade
WGH pieces were judged by WCS alumni and former WCS Visual Arts students: Emily Martin and Molly Martin.
Emily is a 2013 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media and Design (Graphic Design) from Baldwin Wallace University in 2017. Over the past six years, Emily has worked with a number of non-profit organizations in media-related roles in the Greater Cleveland area. Currently, Emily works as Communications & Outreach Specialist for the Fair Housing Center for Rights & Research in Cleveland.
Molly is a 2013 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders from Baldwin Wallace University in 2017, and her Masters of Science in Speech Pathology from BW in 2019. Molly currently works as a Speech Language Pathologist for the Ashtabula County ESC.
