SUPERINTENDENT CHIARO’S MESSAGE: Lincoln PK-8 Update 11-06-2020

We are excited to announce that Students in Cohort A will resume their in person Hybrid classes on Monday, November 9th and students in Cohort B will resume their in person hybrid classes on Thursday, November 12 . Since we went to a full online/remote schedule last week, there have been no additional known cases of COVID-19 or staff members required to quarantine.

It is important to reiterate the need for all of us to maintain appropriate social distancing, wear a facial covering and demonstrate good hygienic practices each day. This is important because when we follow these important mitigating practices, and others, it enables our students and staff to be in school, and reduces our risk to the exposure and transmission of COVID-19.

Reporting positive COVID-19 cases in Ohio Public Schools

September 8, 2020

Effective Tuesday, September 8, 2020, a health order was issued in place for reporting positive COVID-19 cases in Ohio Public Schools. Below are direct phone contact lines for each building that are assigned in each school clinic. Parents and family members are encouraged to report positive COVID-19 cases to their child’s school as soon as they are diagnosed with COVID-19, whether by laboratory test or through physician examination.

The goals of the order are to provide communities with information to minimize the further transmission of COVID-19 and to allow local health officials to begin timely contact tracing. Parents/guardians are being asked to report to their schools new positive COVID-19 cases for their children enrolled in school, from preschool-aged through grade 12, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8. Districts and schools must notify affected students/parents (in same classroom and building) and their local health departments within 24 hours of learning of confirmed student and/or staff cases.

If your child has been diagnosed with COVID 19, please contact the school nurse at your child’s school using the direct contact line listed below:
Jefferson PK-8 School: 330-675-6993
Lincoln PK-8 School: 330-373-4573
McGuffey PK-8 School: 330-675-6973
Willard PK-8 School: 330-675-8663
Warren G Harding High School: 330-675-8603

Additionally, the Warren City School District has identified a COVID Coordinator, essentially serving in the capacity of liaison between the Warren City Health Department and the Warren City Schools.
COVID 19 Coordinator: Tracy Preston 330-675-4314

The school district is committed to communicating confirmed positive COVID-19 cases to our student families and staff members as specified in the health order. Additionally, any information gathered will be shared with the Warren City Health Department to support their efforts in appropriate reporting.

Thank you, in advance, for your support, cooperation and understanding as we continue to navigate through COVID 19.
