All About Fractions: McGuffey & Willard 3rd Grade Students journey to WCS’ SRWC to Advance Math Skills

On Friday, February 7, 2025, more than 200 third graders from the Willard and McGuffey PK-8 schools worked in groups for a cross-content field trip experience at the Warren City Schools’ Student Recreation and Wellness Center.

On the SRWC’s turf, students worked in groups of eight to lay out fraction cards and discuss what they noticed about them.

Next they used the turf lines as a number line and placed the cards from least to greatest.

Students had to be in agreement on the placement of each card before they could move on to the next one and record their answers.
