More than 500 coats were handed out at the McGuffey PK-8 School recently thanks to Operation Warm.
The national nonprofit provided the coats in response to an application submitted last year by McGuffey school-community liaisons Sydney Johnson and Ruby Freeman. The award provided coats for students in grades PK-5 this school year at no cost to the district or the students’ families.
Operation Warm is a non-profit organization that has been around for 27 years.
