WCSD SEL Friend & Colleague R. Keeth Matheny Keynotes Trumbull County Administrators’ Conference

Warren City Schools SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) friend and colleague R. Keeth Matheny , who has helped our school district advance our Social-Emotional Learning Skills, served as a keynote at the Trumbull County Administrators’ Conference.

Warren City Schools’ leaders who attended the conference benefitted once again by Keeth’s expertise, skills and experience in SEL – an area of great importance to our school district that has assisted us in serving and meeting the needs of the whole child.

WCSD Kindergarten Students get a “Jump Start” on the 2021-2022 School Year

Dozens of parents, grandparents and other relatives gathered at Warren’s four PK-8 Schools for Family Fun Days as part of the district’s annual Jump Start into Kindergarten program.

Jump Start is a longstanding tradition of Warren City Schools. Before school starts, kindergarten children attend visit their individual schools to meet their teachers and peers, become familiar with school routines, and learn some pre-reading skills.

The children who attend Jump Start into Kindergarten become the leaders of the class.  There are 207 children happily attending the program this year.

Family Fund Days were held the week of Aug. 2 at the Jefferson, Lincoln, McGuffey and Willard PK-8 schools. Students received books and parents were able to read to and with their children.
