Congratulations to the Lincoln Power of the Pen team who competed in the district tournament held online through the Northeast Ohio Impact Academy. Our team comprised of Aria Shelby, Jane Faulk, Micaiah Capers, Josellen O’Brien, Havannah Beeson, and Olivia Waldron.
Overall for the first time Lincoln has ever competed in the competition, our team received 2nd place overall of all the teams who competed. The team was awarded a plaque for excellence in writing that will be displayed in the Lincoln trophy case located inside the cafeteria. Each team member was awarded a top team writing medal as they finished the top three overall.
Four of our writers advanced to the regional competition that will be held on Saturday, February 26th.
Congratulations to Jane Faulk, Micaiah Capers, Josellen O’Brien, and Olivia Waldron as they compete again on Saturday. All four writers fell within the top 15 writers of the entire completion out of 52 writers.
Aria Shelby and Havannah Beeson will serve as alternates for Saturday’s competition. Both writers finished in the top 25.
