The American Heart Association held this year’s STEM Goes Red for Girls Experience at The New Center at Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown.
STEM Goes Red is designed to provide 7th – 8th grade girls insights into the possibilities and potential they possess to make a real impact on the world around them through STEM.
Students in grades PK-4 experienced some holiday magic while taking a stroll in the small gym that was transformed into a “Winter Wonderland”.
Students were able to interact with characters from the movie “Frozen”, “The Grinch”, Super Mario Brothers, Barbie, and had a visit from Santa and his elves.
Winter Wonderland is on its third year of production and families were invited to attend in an after school event.
Ohio State Patrol came to visit Kindergarten and discussed safety inside the car and outside in/near the road.
Mr. Grinchy(our school naughty elf) has been up to no good. He took the principals badge and got into the building the other day and left snowballs for the kids to have a snowball fight!
Student Council is sponsoring a Holiday Spirit Week following the schedule below:
Dec. 11th – Crazy Christmas
Dec. 12th – Dress as your favorite Christmas Character
Dec. 13th – Christmas hats and socks
Dec. 14th – Ugly Christmas sweater or Christmas sweater
Dec. 15th – Pajama Day! Polar Express Day
The entire building will be having an opportunity to participate in a Picture Retake Day this Thursday, December 7th.
For those students who purchased a packet of pictures this past fall, and wishing for a new photo, may bring the old photos in the original packet and have another picture taken.
For those students not purchasing a packet in the fall, and would like to take advantage of a winter session, may do so by asking their teacher for a packet prior to Wednesday afternoon.
Students will bring the completed packets, along with money’s with them this Thursday to the photo shoot.
Responsibility will be the focus for all of our K-8 students for November 27-December 15.
Students in grades K-5 earning this incentive will be treated to hot chocolate, popcorn, and a movie. See the image below for K-2 expectations.
Students in grades 6-8 earning this incentive will be treated to winter centers including karaoke.
