Mrs. Catuogno-Jones’s 7th grade math class practiced setting up and solving equations using algebra tiles and equation mats. Visual models reinforce the equation solving process, solidify understanding of like terms, inverse operations and zero pairs.

Challenge 24

Challenge 24 Trumbull County competition was held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Harding High School. Students in 4th-8th grade from schools in Trumbull County participated in a competitive math game requiring students to mentally add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers to equal 24. Lincoln students included:

4th graders were Brayen Scott, Kierra Elzy, Kourtney Spain, Amariyae Allen

5th graders were Catherine Blose, Genevieve Ramey, Kyree Sparks, Declan Claar, Cohen Herchler

6th graders were Bryson Scott, James Morrison, Bryson Williams

7th and 8th graders were Matthew Richardson, Asa Burch, Ross Johnson, Daniel Long, Kyree Sparks, Bryson Scott, Bryson Williams, James Morrison, Matthew Richardson, Asa Burch, and Ross Johnson made it to the semi final round. Awesome!!!

Scholastic Book Fair

The Lincoln Book Fair, will take place from November 9th–November 18th. The K-3 students will shop during their library special and grades 4-8 and PK will shop November 16th -18th in the Media Center. We will also be open on both conference nights.

Reading and Positive Behavior BINGO

Special book characters visited the Lincoln Library today. They were promoting the “Reading and Positive Behavior Bingo” program set up by Mrs. Selak our Librarian. If the students finish their BINGO board they will get a certificate from their teacher to give to Mrs. Selak who will give them a coin for the book vending machine. The book is theirs to keep. Wow, So exciting!

Complete a BINGO by completing 4 squares vertically, horizontally, or diagonally and win a FREE book from “Inchy” the book vending machinein the library. Complete all 20 squares by the end of the 2nd grading period and receive a special prize.

Squares may be completed at school or at home. Squares completed at home must be initialed by a grownup. Show your BINGO board to your teacher and and receive your certificate to take to Mrs. Selak in the Library.
