Students in 6th and 7th grade from McGuffey and Lincoln celebrated Pi Day; an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π, by traveling to the Student and Recreation and Wellness Center to work on various math activities all based on π.
Destination Imagination
Lincoln’s Rising Stars Destination Imagination team competed in the regional tournament at Beechwood High School.
The second grade team; consisting of Elizabeth Capers, Chayce Bell, and Bradyn Buccella, competed in the Weather Together Challenge.
Judges were impressed with their creativity and teamwork.
3rd Annual Butler Young Artists Show
Mrs. Newbrough submitted six pieces of artwork and two of our students were awarded placements out of 44 schools and over 250 entries.
Literacy Carnival
Students were delighted to get a chance to meet one of their favorite characters Pete the Cat to kick off Read Across America Week and our Literacy Carnival.
Students participated in carnival literacy games to help reinforce language skills they have learned at school.

Trumbull County Spelling Bees
Congratulations to Genevieve Ramey for earning the top spot at the Trumbull County Educational Service Center’s Annual Spelling Bee.
Genevieve was amount 34 students from school across Trumbull County to compete in the event that is coo-sponsored by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber.
MathCounts Competition
Congratulations to our 7th and 8th graders who attended the annual MathCounts Competition at Youngstown State University.
The 8th grade team consisting of Alayna Jordan, James Morrison, Bryson Scott, and Bryson Williams received 3rd place overall out of 12 schools.
Our second team was second to Boardman in their individual bracket: Genevieve Ramey, Cohen Herchler, Declan Claar, and Daniel Haggerty.
Daniel Haggerty placed in the quarterfinals during the Countdown Round.
Three of our students placed in the Top 16 overall for their individual scores: Bryson Scott, Bryson Williams and Daniel Haggerty.
Bryson Scott earned Rank 1 overall and qualified for the stat competition in March.
Life Saving Training
Nurse Fitzpatrick provided the staff with Heimlich Maneuver training.
Staff practiced their skills on three safety practice dolls.
