STEM Challenge in the 6th grade

STEM is an acronym for the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. Students were tasked with becomming Civil Engineers by building bridges in Mrs. Selak’s STEM class. The bridges had to be 14cm long. They were able to use marshmallows, toothpicks, heart and gummy candies. Mmmmm tasty! The students researched different types of bridges and shapes that would make the most sturdy structures.

The winning bridge was built by Ethan Johnson and Julius Walker who are working on it in the picture below.
