Congratulation to the 2024 National Honor Society Inductees!

Students, faculty, family and friends gathered on Friday, December 13, 2024 to celebrate and welcome the new inductees into the Beverly A. Berile Chapter of the National Honor Society. Following the ceremony refreshments and a time of fellowship were enjoyed by all in attendance.

Faculty advisors, Joan Flanik and Kristy Thornton, organized the event and Ariana Davis, Warren G. Harding and NHS alumnus, spoke at the event.

School Board Meeting @ WGH

On Tuesday, December 10, 2024 the Warren City Schools held their monthly school board meeting in the Cafetorium at Warren G. Harding High School. The school board took time during the open session to recognize students, staff and programing at WGH.

Four of the 8 students who were finalists for the Warren Tribune Chronicle’s 20 Under 20 award accepted recognition and congratulations for the group. Pictured below are Sonia Pitts, Sarah Herko, Courtney Wilcox, and Samantha Barkley. 20/20 honorees not pictured are Jane Faulk, Sophie Gardner, Yurielis Navarro Jimenez, and Monica Ruckman.

New and innovative classes here at Harding including Welding, Music Production, and Drones were showcased by students and Faculty. Ms. Sirney and Nyx Podgorny represented the Music Production Class. Michael Mann and Mr. Sullivan spoke about the Welding Program here are WGH. Ms. Liptak and three of her Drone Class students, Quentin Fisher, Day’Vion Blackwell, and Dailon Curry, gave a demonstration on flying drones.

Warren G. Harding’s 20 Under Twenty Award Winners Celebrated!

On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, each of eight Warren G. Harding Students were honored as one of 20 students in Trumbull and Mahoning Counties, under 20 years of age, who are already making an impact on their communities. Akron Children’s, The Tribune Chronicle and AVI FoodSystems Incorporated co-sponsor this award which focuses on students’ academic, extracurricular and volunteer activities.

Warren G. Harding students recognized were Samantha Barkley, Jane Faulk, Sophie Gardner, Sarah Herko, Yurielis Navarrro Jimenez, Sonia Pitts, Monica Ruckman, and Courtney Wilcox. Courtney Wilcox had the additional honor of being one of the top 5 leaders and her charity was awarded a portion of the $1000 prize.

Congratulations WGH 20/20

Congratulations to our Warren G. Harding Twenty under 20 award recipients. The Twenty under 20 is an award sponsored by the Tribune Chronicle that reflects a student’s volunteer activities, academic achievement, teacher and community recommendations, and extracurricular activities.

2-Sentence Spooky Story Challenge.

Over 100 students at WGH participated in the 2-Sentence Spooky Story Challenge sponsored by the library. Thank you to everyone who participated and all of the staff who helped choose the winners! It was really hard to choose!

Making a Difference, One Apple Crisp at a Time

Students from Ms. Brandy Scarmack’s Cooking Classes delivered 18 pans of Caramel Apple Crisp to Warren Family Mission as part of the Culinary Program’s Make a Difference Campaign.  As in years past, all students in the Cooking 1 course donate a portion of their baked goods items prepared in class to four local non profit organizations.  Students spend time researching organizations and missions to determine where they would like to donate.  Tyra, Nevaeh, Elaina and Lariyah were given a tour around the Mission and spoke about volunteer opportunities with the staff.  This was a wonderful opportunity for these students and represented WGH so well!  There are three weeks remaining to this campaign for the cooking students.

Warren G Harding High School crowned their 2024 Homecoming King and Queen on Friday, October 11. 2024 prior to the Raiders football win against Youngstown Mooney.
