McGuffey Food Pantry

McGuffey has now opened our food pantry with the help of Mrs. Benson and Mrs. Reed. Ms. Bluedorn and her family donated a refrigerator so we can store cold food items.

Shannen, Our Therapy Dog

Mrs. Rohrer is pictured with our own therapy dog, Shannen. Shannen came by to assist with the Virtual Open House video. She stops by every Thursday to see the students and staff. (This picture was taken in February 2020.)

Teachers and Virtual Meetings

Several teachers were displayed during a virtual professional development meeting last Wednesday. Teachers are embracing new ways to meet and share ideas with other staff members.

Classes Canceled

Classes will be canceled for all students Wednesday, March 18, 2020 for staff professional development and training to best support the needs of our students.

Peer Mediator Graduation

Our fourth and fifth grade peer mediators were selected by their classmates through a voting process in the fall. The selected students then spent many lunch periods training. This included learning steps of the process and practicing mock mediations. Once training was completed, thirteen students participated in a graduation ceremony on February 13. These students presented a mock mediation and explained the process to have a mediation during lunch to both the fourth and fifth grade students and family members. Family members and peer mediators enjoy a brief reception following the graduation.

Black History Month Program

All students participated in Black History assemblies on February 18th embracing diversity and culture.
