National Geographic Bee Winner

Twenty one McGuffey students participated in the preliminary test for the National Geographic Bee.  This is a national competition to inspire students to learn more about the world.  Ten finalists were selected based upon test scores. They competed in the McGuffey National Geographic Bee on January 10th. The winner, Jayden Colbert was determined after several back and forth rounds with runner up Connor Roberts. Jayden will now take the state computer test to determine if he is one of the top one hundred to qualify for the state bee.

STEM Classes Build with Spaghetti

Sixth and seventh graders compete to see whose team can build the tallest free-standing tower out of spaghetti in their STEM classes.  The towers need to be able to support a marshmallow on top for ten seconds.
