Mrs. Hitchings and Mrs. Marciano choose a different student from their classroom every week and put a yard sign in their yard. The students are chosen from different criteria. It could be a test with good scores, showing respect and kindness, exemplifying the WARREN acronym or showing improvement in class.
The Fall Scholastic Book Fair will be here at McGuffey from October 14th through October 18th! Your student will have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair during the school day. You can get a jump start on the action starting October 9th by clicking on the link here:
On May 3, the district art show was held at Harding! McGuffey students received 10 awards. In second grade, we had students place 1st and 3rd, in third grade we also had students place 1st and 3rd, in fourth grade we had a third place winner, in sixth grade we had a second place winner, in seventh grade we had a 2nd place winner, and in eighth grade we won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place! Great job by all artists; we are so proud of you. Also congratulations to our principal award winners from Kindergarten, third grade, and seventh grade.
Officer Tatgenhorst and K9 Officer Ivo of East Liverpool visit schools and help to spread the message to never give up no matter what—No Excuses! Ivo was injured during training and broke his leg. He ended up with pins in his leg that got infected and that’s what led to the amputation of his front leg.
