Mrs. Vesey’s 6 and 7th grade classes designed and played their own golf holes.
Destination Imagination is an innovative program for ages K-12. The mission of Destination Imagination is to inspire and equip youth to imagine and innovate through the creative process. Team Challenges are available each year in the following categories: Technical, Scientific, Fine Arts, Improvisational, Engineering, Service Learning, and Early Learning. Although each Team Challenge has a specific educational focus, they each also incorporate elements to make them truly multi-disciplinary and cross-curricular. with thousands of students a year participating across each state.
Willard teams took part in the North East Regional Destination Imagination Tournament! With over 800 people joining together at Beachwood Schools on March 1st, our teams spent the day in their challenge and Instant Challenge competition against schools in the Northeast Region.
Willard’s Elementary Challenges Lead by Ms. Vaughn were the Misfit Pencils! These students took the Fine Arts challenge and won 3rd place! Zaria CreightonPenny BennerJacklyn BurdickRaniah ShannonHaarper Warfield
Also led by Ms. Vaughn, at the elementary level the Trucker Boys took the Technical Challenge and won 4th place! Cartier HowardLiam WickXavier Hicks
In the Middle School Miss Meadows was the team manager of two teams. First up, the Intergalactic Space Freaks took he Technical Challenge and won 2nd place! Miley MileyEthan McFarland Kaylee Sotak-Barnes Robert Mach
The other team in Middle School, Retrograde, chose the Scientific Challenge and won 3rd place. Alex KaleugherAdam Koniowsky Zyon Witherow
All four teams will go on to the State Competition on March 29th in Baberton. These teams have worked hard since October and will continue to fine tune and strengthen their work for the next competition.
