Students Report: Track

Written by Raziya Green and Kaiden Evans

Track is a running ability sport. At Warren G. Harding track is a sport that both boys and girls participate in. The sport has 44 different events for boys and girls to run. Track allows girls and boys to receive athletic scholarships to many different colleges. To participate in track, students don’t have to be runners.

Hurling, throwing and jumping are examples of non-running events in track. Relay races and long-distance races are other examples of the different events students can participate in as part of the track team. In order to join the track team students must meet all requirements including attending training and conditioning, have a GPA of at least 2.5 and attend school regularly with no unexcused absences. Students are also expected to stay in the W and maintain respectful representation in and out of school.
