McGuffey’s Kindergarten Registration

In order to register your child for Kindergarten, he or she must be five years old by September 30, 2023.

Have you ever wondered what happens during Math class every day?
Now is your chance to find out! Come and watch your child engage in
Number Corner. Then, we will play some fun math games that you can
take home! Finally, you may stay and enjoy lunch with your 1st grader
from 1:30-2:00pm (Adult lunch is $4 if you wish to purchase).

On Monday March 20, our third, fourth, and fifth grade students will be celebrating Career Day.  Family member volunteers,  as well as community members, will present to our students the various jobs and schooling needed to obtain their profession.   Career days are a great way to expose students to a variety of jobs and make a connection between school and workplace.

Sidney from the SMARTS program, came to McGuffey and danced for the K-2 students. Some students went on stage and danced with her.

On Thursday, February 16, Kindergarten students and their families came to McGuffey for some Peace & Pizza. Families participated in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) activities with their students. Fun was had by all.

Our candy fundraiser began on Wednesday, February 15 and will end on Friday, March 3rd. Please keep the brochure so you know who bought items from you but return the master with the money collected. Orders will be delivered the week of March 27th, 2023.

Keys to Beginning Reading is an evidence-based professional development course where teachers learn instructional practices for teaching foundational reading skills that are aligned with the science of reading. The entire course takes approximately 36 hours to complete. The photos attached are examples of strategies to support comprehension from the Module 9 coursework.

on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, 6-8 students and their families came to hear about our Math program. We introduced them to our CPM book and our pilot program, IXL. Families were able to play some math games and win gift cards. Thank you to all the families that came out!
