Preschool Grandparents Day

Preschoolers at Jefferson had a celebration in their classroom by inviting some very special grandparents. Visitors got to see many of the activities that the students do each day and even got to play in some of the centers. Thank you to all of the special guests that took time out of their day to visit.

Color Days at the ‘J’

Students at Jefferson helped our friends in preschool and kindergarten practice their colors by having color days. We wrapped up our color days with a rainbow day. Students dressed in lots of different colors to celebrate.

Color Days at Jefferson

Students at Jefferson can help our preschool and kindergarten students practice learning their colors with our annual color days. Students will read books, sing songs, read poems, color pictures, and study different animals or food of a certain color. Below is a calendar of what colors students will focus on. Please do not go out and buy new clothes- simply try to wear something of the color each day.

Wednesday September 13th: NO SCHOOL – Waiver Day

Thursday September 14th: YELLOW

Friday September 15th: GREEN

Tailgate Party

Students and teachers had a great time celebrating a successful start to the school year with a tailgate party. Students enjoyed nachos and juice, visiting with their classmates, a dance party, and games.

Building Math Skills

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Sauer’s class practice their math skills by using different tools at centers that are located on each table. Students also learn valuable communication and sharing skills at these centers.

Jefferson Open House

Jefferson will host its annual ‘Open House’ on Thursday, August 31 with the following times:

K-2 Pod 5:00-7:00PM

3-5 Pod 5:30-7:30PM

6-8 Pod 6:00-8:00PM

Please come out and meet your child’s teacher, see their classroom, and learn about the many resources available for your child and family.

BOGO Book Fair

Jefferson will be hosting its spring BOGO book fair the week of May 8-12. Students will shop Tuesday/Wednesday/or Thursday of book fair week.

Students Attend YSU English Festival

Eighth grade students from Jefferson attended the annual YSU English Festival. Students read multiple books to prepare for the event. Students went to clinics, heard famous authors speak, completed writing activities and got to meet students from Mahoning, Trumbull, and Ashtabula county. They did a wonderful job representing the ‘J’.
