United Way Reads to Students

Second grade classes here at Jefferson were recently visited by members of the United Way. Volunteers read a book to each of our second grade classes, completed an activity and then each student was given a copy of the book ‘Scaredy Squirrel’. Thank you to the United Way for providing this yearly activity for our students.

Kindergarten Makes Apple Pie

Students in Kindergarten finished up their unit learning about apples by making their own apple pie cups. Students learned about the life cycle of apples and the ingredients needed for their recipe. Students followed directions, added ingredients and then were able to enjoy their treat.

Band Returns to Jefferson!

Students in grades 6-8 are excited to be starting band for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. Ms. Komsa will be leading our middle school students for the remainder of the school year, helping each of our band members to learn their instruments and have a wonderful experience playing together.

Miss Price’s Class Performs Science Experiment

Recently, Miss Price’s first grade class performed a science experiment on apples. Students were excited to learn about the reaction the baking soda and vinegar have together. Students watched intently as Miss Price used an apple and some food coloring to add to the excitement.

Mini Majorettes and Flagline Perform at Harding

On Saturday, September 25, several students from Jefferson participated in the WGH mini majorette and flagline camp. Each student learned routines taught by Harding students and then were able to perform with the band for their annual band night. Thank you to the Harding Band for hosting such a wonderful event for the students. Great job to everyone who performed!
