Student Completes Service Project

Macey, a fourth grade student at Jefferson, recently completed a service project in which she raised money for the Salvation Army. Macey came up with the idea, organized a quarter drop, went on our morning video announcements to explain the fundraiser, went to classrooms to run the quarter drop, and also counted the money raised.

Macey was able to raise $373.62 and presented a check to representatives from the Salvation Army at a ceremony at the school. Macey was inspired to do the project because of a book she read in which it said “even one person can make a difference.” We are very proud of Macey and all of her hard work.

Middle School Service Project

Jefferson middle school students completed a service project that included ‘beautifying’ their hallway. This was a student-led project in which they decided on the theme they wanted to represent their class and what decorations to use in the hallways.

After a vote, the sixth grade team was the winner of the beautification project. They will win an ice cream sundae bar. Judges included students, teachers, and a principal.

Snowflake Ball

Students in grades 3-5 were treated to a Snowflake Ball here at Jefferson. Students earned points during the month of December by completing their work, making good choices and having good attendance. Students were then able to use their points to purchase treats during the dance.

We would also like to congratulate the 5th grade king and queen Faith and Jaymen.
