McGuffey has begun a \u201cWelcome Club\u201d for the K-2 pod.\u00a0 Nine students from second grade were chosen by teachers to be the pioneers of welcoming first and second grade students and providing them with a sticker on their way into their classroom. \u00a0\u00a0One Monday five of the students greet our Kindergarten students by telling them good morning, welcome to McGuffey or happy Monday.\u00a0 The next week four students greet our first grade students.\u00a0 This is a great way to improve the social skills of our second graders and give them a sense of purpose and being a part of something at McGuffey.\u00a0 The first and second grade students feel welcome in our building and get to meet some of our older students.\u00a0 Mrs. Redmond provided training for our Welcoming Club members and supervises during the welcoming times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
